About Us
My Little
Roo started as an idea back in 2001, when founder Kelsey Clark became a
mother to her oldest son, Aidan. Kelsey soon recognized that the
ubiquitous Baby Bjorn-type front carrier, while brilliant in its basic
design, lacked style and function. With this in mind, she set out to
create a fashionable line of designer slipcovers that would add style
and function to the front baby carrier while also prolonging the usable
life of the carrier by reducing the need for washing. She added
function by incorporating a front pocket that can easily stow your
blackberry, cell phone, cash, credit card, or that pacifier that's
always getting lost. Embracing her design philosophy and a company that
would accomadate her commitment to family, her creation was finally
born in 2008.
Kelsey
also took the environment into consideration by seeking out the softest
washable vintage recycled chenille, along with the coziest cotton in an
array of retro- and vintage- inspired fabrics. My Little Roo baby
carrier slipcovers are a breeze to put on and take off, can be machine
washed, are made in the USA, and are packaged by hand with recycled
gift boxes. Your cover will arrive ready to give at a gift at your next
baby shower!
As a
mother of three young boys, creating a family-centered business from
home was a priority for Kelsey. Born and raised in California, she has
a close-knit family. Diligence, hard work, and the importance of family
were core values Kelsey learned as a child, and which she carried into
her professional pursuits. Kelsey worked for several years at
DreamWorks and Universal Studios as a personal assistant to a renowned
film director. The job became non-conducive to raising a family, so,
two years after having her first son, she decided to stay at home to
raise him. Kelsey married her husband, Aaron, in 1995. Together they
live in Pacific Palisades California, with sons Aidan (7), Brennan (3),
and Vance (11 mo), who are her greatest creations and ongoing sources of inspiration.
